We are proud to bring the Rochester region a unique fitness experience, emphasizing the Barre technique, yoga, cycling and more.  ROC & Soul Fitness provides people of all ages with the highest quality in the industry.  We do this by offering challenging workouts for people of all fitness levels, building a community, and helping you to achieve your goals.

What does a boutique style fitness studio mean to us?  We are a high-end spa-like design with a taste of home.  From the moment you enter our sanctuary you will be moved and motivated to ROC your workout.  Our design is not like anything else you've experienced in fitness in Rochester, NY.  ROC & Soul Fitness is a tight knit community where we care about each and everyone that enters our studio.  Because we are a small boutique studio our instructors, team and patrons will become a fitness family.

We believe in inspiring and empowering the human spirit - "one inch, one day, and one community at a time."

Malena Guadagnino

 

Malena has been a lifelong dancer, starting dance classes at the age of three and dancing through college and beyond. Throughout college, Malena took many dance classes, taught numerous dance camps to young dancers, and danced with the Converge Dance Company.  She attended Nazareth College where she earned her Bachelors and Masters Degree in social studies and literacy education. Barre fitness caught her attention a few years ago with the dance-inspired workout. After trying many different types of fitness activities, barre instantly became her favorite choice and she became a certified instructor to share her love for Barre. Currently, when Malena is not teaching barre classes, she is teaching her other passion, reading, coaching the high school step team at her school, and loving her West Highland White Terriers, Gia and Leo.

MaryAnne Guadagnino

MaryAnne Guadagnino is a resident of Webster, NY.  MaryAnne has been active in the arts for her entire life. She started dancing, specializing in Jazz, Tap, Ballet with Debbie Dee Dance Studios.  She took master classes in Buffalo and New York City. During that time, she also started to assist and teach on her own.  She also taught at A Touch of Dance. Mary Anne, was a manager at the Body Shoppe locations in the Rochester area, where she ran the aerobics and work out classes.  She became Barre Certified in 2017 to continue her passion for dance, fitness and teaching.

MaryAnne is a proud mother of three and a supervisor at Sands Constellation Heart Institute.   Mary Anne is very excited to be a part of ROC and Soul Fitness and will specialize in “folks her age and up.”

Shirley Marino

 

Shirley was born and raised in Rochester, NY, and is a proud mother of two beautiful daughters!  Shirley has been in the fitness industry for 30 years, proudly having coached gymnastics, taught dance, and served as a personal trainer and fitness coach for over 15 years. As a competitive dancer and gymnast, Shirley won many competitions, danced with the New York City Ballet, and was even cast in a Hollywood movie as a dancer, after winning a national dance contest. Additionally, Shirley has instructed spinning, step, and many types of aerobics classes. She incorporates all her knowledge, training, and talent into her ROC Core & More class to create a cardio, weight training, and toning workout! Her class will never be the same twice, allowing for variety, and is geared towards modifications for the beginner to the most advanced. All levels are welcome and will get a “ROCing” workout. “I love to challenge my clients as well as myself and have fun in the process.”

Lianna Miller

Lianna started dance classes at age five, and hasn't stopped moving since! After dancing in high school and college, Lianna's love of dance shifted focus to vinyasa yoga.  After completing her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2014, Lianna worked at various gyms and yoga studios around Hartford, CT, before moving back to Rochester in 2016. When the opportunity to teach Barre arose in 2017, she couldn't pass up the chance to go back to her dance roots. From beginner to advanced, Lianna loves watching students enjoy yoga and barre as much as she does. 

When Lianna isn't teaching, she's exploring Rochester trails and parks teaching Hikyoga, or enjoying life with her husband and fur kids. 

Olivia March

Olivia has practiced yoga for 14 years, but it wasn't until wedding planning in 2014 that it became a part of her daily routine.  Finding a place for balance, mindfulness and continual growth, she knew it was something she wanted to bring to others.  Olivia completed her 200-hour PYT at CorePower Yoga in 2015 and taught in Washington, DC until relocating to Rochester in August 2016.  She and her husband love exploring upstate NY with their mini labradoodle and she can't wait to join the ROC yoga community!

Alyssa Budinock

Alyssa was first introduced to yoga during her college years. Like many first time yogis, she went to her first class seeking relief from anxiety and stress. After graduating she worked full time as a Youth Employment Counselor in Wayne County, juggled part time gigs on the side, and, sadly, she let herself forget about yoga for a while. Eventually, exhausted and misaligned from her busy schedule and busy mind, she came to a point she designates today as her mental, physical and emotional “rock bottom”. She can attest the good news: it’s only up from there, and it starts with a single breath! 

From that point on Alyssa began practicing yoga regularly, and the journey for her has been completely transformative. She eventually left her full time job to pursue graduate school, and ended up taking an intensive 4 week 200hr Yoga Teacher Training instead! Forever a student, Alyssa is fascinated by the lessons she continues to learn from within and is dedicated to helping others learn more about their true selves through yoga and meditation. Rather than constantly seeking "what's next" in our lives, Alyssa believes (like so many others!) that if we come back and back again to the pulse of our breath, life will open to us. 

 

Today Alyssa teaches Hatha style yoga from the Kripalu tradition. Her class style encourages patient and compassionate self study and deep inquiry. In her classes she teaches asana, pranayama, and mindfulness/meditation as tools her students can use on and off the mat to help them navigate the uncertainties of life with skill and grace!

Mackenzie Spencer

 

Mackenzie found yoga while living in New York City. Combining a love of music and movement, with a cheerleading background, Vinyasa flow has become a passion for her.

Recently, Mackenzie left the city and her corporate job to follow her dream of inspiring others through teaching yoga. Leading her to Bali, Indonesia where she received her 200 hour certification. Yoga is a constant source of inspiration and guidance in Mackenzie’s life and she is excited to share this practice with you.

Julia Nuccitelli

 

Julia Nuccitelli is currently studying at the Joffrey School of Ballet in New York City.  Originally from Webster, NY, Julia started dancing at the age of three. She began her dancing career at Performance Plus Dance (PPD) specializing in all forms of dance including Ballet, Jazz,Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop, and Modern. In addition to her training at PPD, Julia also studied with Modus Dance in Albuquerque, NM. and completed the five-year New York State Regents Fine Arts Sequence at Aquinas Institute. Julia’s passion for dance and fitness inspired
her to become a Barre instructor. “Barre combines my love for dance and fitness – it makes getting in shape fun and you can work every part of your body in a single class. I am truly excited to be a part of the ROC and Soul Fitness Team.”

Jene Durpa

 

Jené is a born and raised native of Upstate NY. Dancing for a decade and exploring a couple sports she loves being active. Jené has devoted her life to Health and Wellness along with helping others to stay healthy. Her passion for Health and Wellness soared when she started college. This enthusiasm lead her to competing in a bodybuilding competition as a figure competitor. Finishing her degree in Exercise Science, obtaining a personal training certification and an exercise therapist certification she’s constantly learning and researching. By sharing her knowledge and experiences through her website, My Simply Unique.com, she enjoys discovering new ways to help people be the best they can be! The thrill of starting at Roc & Soul Fitness is a distinguished opportunity to continue motivating and educating others. She’s a stay at home mom which keeps her busy and active. For fun she loves to take her Italian Mastiff, Vincenzo, for walks and going on outdoor adventures. 

Meg Allocco Angell

A little about me, I am a momma of 2 and I live in Webster with my family! I have been married to my college sweetheart for 5 years and we have been together for 13! We met at St. John Fisher where I earned my degrees in Childhood/Special Ed and my masters in Literacy Education! I am a private homeschool teacher and tutor during the year, and currently working on my certification to  be a certified make up artist as well!  I became a certified kids yoga instructor in March of 2017 through the Yoga Ed program! I started my own personal journey with yoga 4 years ago and it has been life changing for me, so I wanted to bring it to my younger friends and give them the gift of yoga as children! My goal is to create a safe place for kids in the community where children can strengthen their mind and body connection, boost self esteem and confidence, develop focus and concentration, refine balance and coordination, and enhance their physical flexibility and strength. At Roc & Soul children will be given the opportunity to connect with themselves, new friends, and their yoga mats while using their imaginations, breathing techniques and yoga poses to create a mindful, calming, and fun experience for all ages! 

Rachel Rose

Rachael discovered her love of dance at the age of four and danced intensively at Sandy Stramonine School of Dance throughout her childhood.  Ballet was always her passion but she trained extensively in tap, jazz, and lyrical as well. In college, Rachael stayed dedicated to fitness by running collegiate cross country and was president of the college dance team. For the dance team, she was responsible for planning the team events, much of the choreography, and teaching at rehearsals. After graduating from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Rachael has continued to dance locally, but found new inspiration in Barre classes! She became certified in Barre Connect through NETA in June 2018 and has been teaching at a local gym throughout the summer.  “It’s so much FUN to go back to the basic principles of ballet while lengthening and toning the entire body! I love that I can use my passion for dance and incorporate the artistry of ballet into barre classes to maintain health and fitness. I’m so honored and exited to share my love of dance, Barre, and fitness with the ROC community!” When not dancing, she is dedicated to helping other people, which has driven her to her career as a pharmacist at the Rochester Psychiatric Center. Rachael also loves being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.

Kelsie McClellan

Kelsie comes to ROC & Soul Fitness all the way from the great state of Texas! Kelsie has a background in the fine arts and an extensive yoga and fitness background, having taught through many studios in Texas, including a studio that instructed many of the Dallas Cowboy players. Kelsie instructs a wide variety of classes including yoga, Pilates, and barre classes. When you are in one of Kelsie’s classes, you will get to experience her amazing playlists. She loves the power of yoga and has coined the phrase at ROC & Soul Fitness of “Yoga Church.” Her “Yoga Church” playlists consist of soulful songs to keep you motivated and energized throughout class. Kelsie is very supportive and challenges clients to continue their growth of their yoga practice. She loves to see her clients excel and grow over time.

Jen Fanuele

Jen began her career in dance at the age of 3. Growing up, she was a member of the studio competition team and the captain of her high school dance team. In 2009, she graduated from college with a BFA degree in Dance from Rutgers University (Mason Gross School of the Arts). During her tenure in college, she worked with many famous teachers and choreographers including David Dorfman, Steven Petronio, Randy James, Reagan Woods, Julia Ritter, John Evans and Paulette Sears. Jen has performed in New York City at Dance New Amsterdam and several other Manhattan venues. She also has danced for modern dance companies and performance groups both in New Jersey and Pennsylvania during and after college. Currently Jen works as a dance teacher and Barre fitness instructor! She has over 10 years experience in the field teaching Ballet, Contemporary/Lyrical, young children's dance, and adults. Teaching has always been her passion! Jen is also a certified Barre Fitness instructor, receiving her training from studios in Hoboken, NYC, and Montclair. As a new resident of Webster, Jen can't wait to share her style with you and bring the burn to ROC & Soul!

Lily Schworm

Lily started both dance and gymnastics at a young age. Though never athletic as a kid, she always had the drive to work hard to be the best. It wasn’t until High School that Lily made a lifelong change for the better, and became involved in working out and eating well. She took her skills from dance and gymnastics and began cheerleading. Lily made the Monroe County All-County cheerleading team her Senior Year, and also competed in the Eddie Meath individual cheer competition. She continued to cheer and tumble in college, and took numerous dance classes throughout. During this time, Lily also coached gymnastics and cheer/tumbling at The Victors Gymnastics. She graduated from SUNY Brockport with a degree in Communications and Business Administration, and has worked as a Business Consultant for Paychex ever since. Additionally, Lily danced several seasons on the Rochester Rattlers dance team, and currently dances for the Rochester Knighthawks. For years, Lily has boxed and practiced yoga to stay in shape, but always loves trying new workout classes. Within the past year she was turned on to barre, and loves the combination of dance and fitness creating a fun, challenging workout. Outside of dancing and working out, Lily loves spending time with her husband and their pets. Lily has a true passion for helping others achieve their health and fitness goals, and is excited to share this with everyone at ROC and Soul!

 

Christina DiBaudo

Christina was born and raised in Rochester, NY. Growing up, she was a cheerleader for 10 years. Christina received both her bachelors and masters degrees at Canisius College in Buffalo where she fell in love with non-profit work and community building. She spends her day planning events and fundraising for teens and young adults with cancer at 13thirty Cancer Connect. In her spare time, Christina loves to hang out with family and friends and get creative through baking and crafting home-made greeting cards. A close friend recommended Christina try cycling as a way to get back in shape after college and to de-stress from the pressures of working on a masters degree. She instantly fell in love with the high energy and community atmosphere. Christina hopes her classes can be a safe place to explore the incredible world of indoor cycling. She can't wait to share her passion for music, movement, and community at Roc and Soul Fitness with both new and familiar cyclists. Get ready to jam out, escape the world for a little, and sweat at ROC Cycle with Christina!

Jaclyn Yokopovich

Jaclyn’s sense of adventure has taken her from Rochester to many corners of the world and back. From hiking mountains in Peru, volcanoes in Indonesia and glaciers in New Zealand she discovered a love for fitness. During her travels, she found that her true passion was a fit and healthy lifestyle. She has realized the joy it can bring not only to herself but to others as well. A love for fitness transformed to a need for balance. Traveling to India, she received her 200 hour yoga certification. She wishes to bring the same exhilaration obtained from reaching a mountain peak to her riders at the end of each class.

Amanda Mills

Amanda is originally from just outside of Boston and has recently moved to Webster, NY with her husband and their goldendoodle named Freddy! Amanda has been a lifelong fitness enthusiast...participating in sports all of her life and has ran two marathons. After working in management in various healthcare and fitness industries, Amanda decided to pursue her true passion and crossover to the trainer and instructor side. She became certified as a NASM Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist as well as a Cycle Fusion Indoor Cycling instructor. She has been training and teaching for 3 years and has loved every minute of it! She loves the high energy, sweat inducing, dancing on a bike atmosphere of cycle as well as the lengthening, stretching and muscle defining aspects of barre. She believes the combination of both is the perfect workout and is so excited to join the Roc and Soul team! When she’s not teaching, Amanda also enjoys reading, cooking and doing anything and everything outside when the weather is nice. Her and her husband are also thrilled to be welcoming their first baby this June!

Joey Guadagnino

Joey Guadagnino is owner/instructor at ROC & Soul Fitness.  He is dually certified in Barre & Cycling.  He is so excited to start teaching ROC Cycle classes and bring his passion and vision to life.  His wife and business partner, Malena welcomed their first son Luca in August!  Joey loves his two other children, Gia & Leo the little white Westies.  He lives by his motto "Living my best life" and will continue to spread that message throughout ROC & Soul Fitness, plus the Rochester, NY Community!  Let's Ride!

Ashley Nigro

Ashley is originally from Syracuse and moved to the Rochester area to attend college at St. John Fisher, where she graduated with a degree in Communications. Ashley worked in marketing for 11 years before leaving her full-time job to stay home with her son. While working full-time at a desk job, she always made an effort to stay active and fit. Ashley took her first barre class in 2013 and was immediately hooked. She began seeking out barre classes wherever she could and dreamed of teaching barre herself one day. Ashley was thrilled when Roc and Soul opened and immediately became a member, taking barre and yoga classes to stay in shape throughout her pregnancy and after having her baby. After being a member and working at the front desk, Ashley is so excited to be teaching barre and can’t wait to share her passion for barre with others! Ashley lives in Webster with her husband, 1-year old son, and cat. 

Heather Cottone 

Heather Cottone is a Rochester native who lives in Penfield with her husband and son. She began dancing at the age of 5 and still loves choreography to the beat in all of the classes she teaches. Heather began teaching group exercise in 2009 through the YMCA with specialty certifications in TRX and Barre Above. She became a Master Trainer for Barre Above in 2016 and travels regionally to certify new barre instructors. Heather currently teaches at Gold's Gym Fairport, RIT, and the Eastside YMCA, and she is happy to join the Roc and Soul Fitness team!
