We are proud to bring the Rochester region a unique fitness experience, emphasizing the Barre technique, yoga, cycling and more. ROC & Soul Fitness provides people of all ages with the highest quality in the industry. We do this by offering challenging workouts for people of all fitness levels, building a community, and helping you to achieve your goals.
What does a boutique style fitness studio mean to us? We're a high-end spa-like design with a taste of home. From the moment you enter our sanctuary you will be moved and motivated to ROC your workout. Our design is not like anything else you've experienced in fitness in Rochester, NY. ROC & Soul Fitness is a tight knit community where we care about each and everyone that enters our studio. Because we are a small boutique studio our instructors, team and patrons will become a fitness family.
Meet the Team!
Malena has been a lifelong dancer, starting dance classes at the age of three and dancing through college and beyond. Throughout college, Malena took many dance classes, taught numerous dance camps to young dancers, and danced with the Converge Dance Company. She attended Nazareth College where she earned her Bachelors and Masters Degree in social studies and literacy education. Barre fitness caught her attention a few years ago with the dance-inspired workout. After trying many different types of fitness activities, barre instantly became her favorite choice and she became a certified instructor to share her love for Barre. Currently, when Malena is not teaching barre classes, she is teaching her other passion, reading, coaching the high school step team at her school, and loving her West Highland White Terriers, Gia and Leo.
MaryAnne Guadagnino is a resident of Webster, NY. MaryAnne has been active in the arts for her entire life. She started dancing, specializing in Jazz, Tap, Ballet with Debbie Dee Dance Studios. She took master classes in Buffalo and New York City. During that time, she also started to assist and teach on her own. She also taught at A Touch of Dance. Mary Anne, was a manager at the Body Shoppe locations in the Rochester area, where she ran the aerobics and work out classes. She became Barre Certified in 2017 to continue her passion for dance, fitness and teaching. MaryAnne is a proud mother of three and a supervisor at Sands Constellation Heart Institute. Mary Anne is very excited to be a part of ROC and Soul Fitness and will specialize in “folks her age and up.”
Rachael discovered her love of dance at the age of four and danced intensively at Sandy Stramonine School of Dance throughout her childhood. Ballet was always her passion but she trained extensively in tap, jazz, and lyrical as well. In college, Rachael stayed dedicated to fitness by running collegiate cross country and was president of the college dance team. For the dance team, she was responsible for planning the team events, much of the choreography, and teaching at rehearsals. After graduating from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Rachael has continued to dance locally, but found new inspiration in Barre classes! She became certified in Barre Connect through NETA in June 2018 and has been teaching at a local gym throughout the summer. “It’s so much FUN to go back to the basic principles of ballet while lengthening and toning the entire body! I love that I can use my passion for dance and incorporate the artistry of ballet into barre classes to maintain health and fitness. I’m so honored and exited to share my love of dance, Barre, and fitness with the ROC community!” When not dancing, she is dedicated to helping other people, which has driven her to her career as a pharmacist at the Rochester Psychiatric Center. Rachael also loves being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
Lily started both dance and gymnastics at a young age. Though never athletic as a kid, she always had the drive to work hard to be the best. It wasn’t until High School that Lily made a lifelong change for the better, and became involved in working out and eating well. She took her skills from dance and gymnastics and began cheerleading. Lily made the Monroe County All-County cheerleading team her Senior Year, and also competed in the Eddie Meath individual cheer competition. She continued to cheer and tumble in college, and took numerous dance classes throughout. During this time, Lily also coached gymnastics and cheer/tumbling at The Victors Gymnastics. She graduated from SUNY Brockport with a degree in Communications and Business Administration, and has worked as a Business Consultant for Paychex ever since. Additionally, Lily danced several seasons on the Rochester Rattlers dance team, and currently dances for the Rochester Knighthawks. For years, Lily has boxed and practiced yoga to stay in shape, but always loves trying new workout classes. Within the past year she was turned on to barre, and loves the combination of dance and fitness creating a fun, challenging workout. Outside of dancing and working out, Lily loves spending time with her husband and their pets. Lily has a true passion for helping others achieve their health and fitness goals, and is excited to share this with everyone at ROC and Soul!
Joey Guadagnino is owner/instructor at ROC & Soul Fitness. He is dually certified in Barre & Cycling. He is so excited to start teaching ROC Cycle classes and bring his passion and vision to life. His wife and business partner, Malena welcomed their first son Luca in August! Joey loves his two other children, Gia & Leo the little white Westies. He lives by his motto "Living my best life" and will continue to spread that message throughout ROC & Soul Fitness, plus the Rochester, NY Community! Let's Ride!
Renee is a local mom of 4 kids. She enjoys traveling and enjoying all the fun outdoor activities that Rochester has to offer, especially in the Spring and Summer months. When she is not busy being a mom, she is working out at several hot spots around Rochester. She loves to workout and inspire others. You can catch Renee teaching cycling, barre, HIIT, and more!
